An actor's actor of the first order, Vincent D'Ononfrio has been delivering “all in” performances, usually in supporting roles, for nearly four decades—“Full Metal Jacket,” “Men In Black,” “Household Saints,” “Steal This Movie!,” “The Cell,” “The Magnificent Seven,” to name just a few, not to mention 10 audience-loving seasons of “Law & Order: Criminal Intent.” He's getting more accolades for his latest performance as Wilson Fisk in “Daredevil: Born Again.” On this episode he talks about the “emotional event” that he has to summon to bring about Fisk's voice in that series and its predecessor. He takes us all the way back to his introduction to Stanislavsky through Sonia Moore and Method work through Sharon Chatten, talks about renting camera equipment to make an early self-tape to send to Stanley Kubrick, explains why script analysis is the best way to serve the story, how “Law & Order” made him a better actor, the fundamental importance of failure, and much more. Back To One is the in-depth, no-nonsense, actors-on-acting podcast from Filmmaker Magazine. In each episode, host Peter Rinaldi invites one working actor to do a deep dive into their unique process, psychology, and approach to the craft. Follow Back To One on Instagram

I received an email from BamBox saying they were moving offices and found some stuff that had been stashed away and forgotten until they started packing up. One of those items was Devil's Reign: X-men #1 signed and CGC witnessed by Vincent D'onofrio. Devil's Reign is a good story-line from Marvel that centers on Daredevil/Kingpin, but it does crossover to a few other titles (like X-men). The gist of the story is Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin is mayor of NYC. He decides he wants to get rid of all those pesky mutants. How the X-men tie into it is Kingpin wants to get rid of the Krakoan tree portal the X-men have in NYC. There is a fair bit of Emma Frost flexing, Daredevil & Elektra fighting, and a smidgen of Purple Man added to make things interesting. The story alone wasn't enough to make me want to buy this slab. The Vincent D'onofrio autograph on that cover with the amazing artwork depicting Kingpin is what sold it for me. Vincent is a very versatile actor who has portrayed many fan favorite characters in movies and TV. Some of his more memorable for me are Private Pyle from Fullmetal Jacket, Bill Newman in JFK, Edgar in Men in Black, Carl Stargher in the Cell, Vic Hosking in Jurassic World, Robert Goren in Law & Order: Criminal Intent, and Wlison Fisk (Kingpin) in the MCU. He brings a little something special to each of these characters. I think if you are a fan of both the X-men and Vincent D'onofrio as I am, this signed slab is an amazing piece. Even if you are just a D'onofrio fan, having his autograph on this comic about one of his most popular characters is a great addition to your collection. If you could care less about Vincent D'onofrio or you don't collect autographs, you would be better served just picking up a raw copy of the comic or an unsigned slab. The crimping in windows, which of course impacted the star's bonus, led to the twice-Oscar-nominated actress suing Disney and settling for a reported $40M+. Adding to the further erosion of box office for any theatrical-day-and-date release on streaming is the fact that these movies are pirated promptly, with clean 4K copies in several languages spread around the world. The recent reintroduction of Netflix's Daredevil's Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home and Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin in Disney+'s latest Hawkeye series has not only surprised fans, it also brought about the inevitable question – are the current versions seen this year the same ones from the Netflix series from 2015, or are they variants? Thankfully, actor Vincent D'onofrio, who played the infamous Marvel Comics villain across three seasons of the Netflix show, is ready to set the record straight, and appease fans attempting to connect the dots – yes, the Kingpin audiences see in Hawkeye is the same villain from Daredevil. “He obviously has more physical strength and can take a lot more physical abuse but from story point of view, it was discussed that this is after The Blip, that he is the same guy that was in Daredevil, but he's lost some of his power,” explained D'onofrio in an exclusive interview with Geek Culture. “My arc in Hawkeye is that I want my power back, so from an actor's point of view, it's portraying him exactly, with the same kind of emotional feel and foundation that I did in Daredevil.” Fans were teased early on, when his character was referenced in episode 3 of Hawkeye when Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox) was told that her uncle would come pick her up after taekwondo lessons. His character was later confirmed in the final moments of episode 5. The confusion stems from the fact that the multiple seasons from the Netflix series of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Punisher and The Defenders were initially identified as part of the MCU, but the characters and storylines were never referenced in the movies, and after the shows were canceled, fans began to speculate that Marvel Studios had no intention of recognising them, until now. D'onofrio portrayed the villain in 27 episodes of Daredevil, and also appeared in The Punisher. The Kingpin's fate was left open ended after the third season of Daredevil was canceled with a cliffhanger. This confirmation from D'onofrio answers many questions fans have been wondering for the last three years – that he lived, and after leaving prison during The Blip when Thanos made half the population in the universe disappear, spent that time rebuilding his empire, and that the Kingpin is the same character across all the MCU shows. The return of Kingpin wasn't only an exciting affair for fans, but also for D'onofrio, who never imagined returning to the character after three years. He certainly didn't expect to start off this year with a phone call from Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige either. “Very early in the year, they reached out, Kevin actually. Kevin called me and invited me to do Hawkeye. And you can imagine, I was extremely excited about that,” said D'onofrio. Returning to a different set with the same character also proved to be a stimulating experience for the veteran actor, whose credits include acclaimed turns in Full Metal Jacket, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, especially when it came to reuniting with co-star Vera Farmiga, who played Eleanor Bishop in the series. While he technically only appears in two of the six episodes, D'onofrio has powerful scenes with Maya Lopez and Kazi (Fra Fee), as well as a massive showdown with Hailee Steinfeld's Kate Bishop in the final episode. “Vera, I've worked with before so I know that she's a wonderful actress and so good. I'm always so impressed by her, and then with Hailee, I didn't have a lot of dialogue but that fight scene was very technical and I was really impressed with her work ethic and she just seems like such a powerhouse on set,” he continued. “And then with Alaqua and Fra, the two of them are both amazing actors and actresses. I love to be impressed by young people and I was definitely impressed. You know, it was really quite something, to be around young people with that kind of work ethic and that kind of talent. It inspires me. It was a wonderful thing.” While Hawkeye has now allowed Kingpin to face off with other heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, D'onofrio does have a wish list of which hero he wants to meet face-to-face, and top of his list is everyone's favourite webslinger. “I think because of the history of the comic books when I was a kid – Punisher, Daredevil and Spider-Man. My hope is that someday, I get to face all of them as the character of Kingpin. I think that would be nice.” Although the season finale hints at the ending of Kingpin's story once and for all, D'onofrio doesn't know what's in store for the future but is hoping that it's not actually the end, and that he can continue to play the character till his heart's content. “I don't know. I can only hope that we do it,” smiled D'onofrio. “I think that would be great, and I think we just all have to keep our fingers crossed that it happens.” Oh trust us, our fingers are crossed alright. [22:51] ‘Wandavision' Is The Most Pirated TV-Show of 2021 https://torrentfreak.com/wandavision-is-the-most-pirated-tv-show-of-2021-211225/ ‘Wandavision' is the most-pirated TV show released in 2021 on torrent sites. The popular Disney+ series decrowned 'The Mandalorian' which topped the chart last year. 'Loki,' another Marvel series, is listed in second place and 'The Witcher' completes the top three. At the end of every year, we take a look at the most-downloaded TV episodes among torrenting pirates. For several years in a row the list was headed by Game of Thrones but that reign came to an end last year after the series ended. This changing of the guard coincided with the launch of several Disney+ exclusives, which do particularly well among the pirating public. Last year ‘The Mandalorian' was the most pirated TV series and in 2021 another Disney title tops the list. ‘Wandavision' seamlessly took over the top spot in a list that is dominated by Marvel series. The series was a hit on Disney+ and on pirate sites, with each episode being downloaded millions of times. The competition for the top spot was fierce with four titles clearly standing out among the rest. Disney's “Loki” eventually settled for second place, one spot higher than Netflix's “The Witcher.” ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier' settled for the fourth spot but wasn't too far off in popularity compared to the top three. What stands out most is that all Disney+ series of Marvel's “Phase Four” are listed in the top 10. In addition to the titles already mentioned, also included is ‘Hawkeye' in fifth spot and ‘What If…?' in sixth. With the current streaming landscape being so fragmented, it appears that many people prefer to pirate instead of paying for ‘another' subscription. That definitely applies to Marvel fans. Update: Our calculations are based on single episodes which means that season packs are underrepresented which disadvantages series that are released in one go. Based on rough calculations, Netflix's Casa de Papel could taken the 5th spot. Squid Game would have made it into the top 10 as well. We will do our best to reflect this correctly in future lists. It's worth noting that BitTorrent traffic only makes up a small portion of the piracy landscape. Most people use streaming sites and services nowadays, which generally do not report viewing stats. Below we have compiled a list of the most torrented TV shows worldwide and released in 2021 (single episode). The ranking is estimated based on sample data from several sources, including I Know and statistics reported by public BitTorrent trackers. Rank Last Year 1 (…) Wandavision 2 (…) Loki 3 (…) The Witcher 4 (…) The Falcon and the Winter Soldier 5 (…) Hawkeye 6 (…) What If…? 7 (…) Foundation 8 (6) Rick and Morty 9 (…) Arcane 10 (…) Wheel of Time [27:04] Hawkeye Blooper Reel Reveals Deleted Scenes, More Kingpin Footage https://www.cbr.com/hawkeye-blooper-reel-reveals-deleted-scenes-more-kingpin-footage/ (On Disney+) The two-minute-long reel now streaming on Disney+ has a decidedly sitcom-like feel, introducing each of the cast members to the tune of "Sweet Gingerbread Man" sung by Sammy Davis Jr. While there's no audio apart from the song for most of it, there's still plenty of evidence that Hawkeye was just as much fun to shoot as it was for audiences to watch. The clip opens by introducing Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye and Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop and shows the pair laughing it up together in a car. The more villainous characters on the show also get their time in the spotlight, with Fra Fee pretending to share a kiss with Tracksuit Mafia thug Aleks Paunovic and Alaqua Cox enjoying her time as Maya Lopez/Echo. Additional footage shows Yelena Belova actor Florence Pugh and Eleanor Bishop actor Vera Farmiga sharing some laughs while filming various scenes for the series. Along with shots of cast members breaking characters and enjoying their time on set, the gag reel includes a handful of deleted scenes centered on Jack (Dalton). One depicts the talented swordsman in what appears to be prison clothes and standing against a metal mesh fence, while another has him brandishing his signature sword in the kitchen, as seen in Episode 6 ("So This Is Christmas?"). The reel also features an over-the-shoulder shot of Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin in his white coat sitting in a restaurant. In a coy nod to Marvel's vaunted secrecy, even the gag reel attempts to keep D'Onofrio's arrival on the show a surprise by redacting the actor's name in the title card. Netflix Defenders [30:39] Jessica Henwick on MCU Return As Iron Fist: "Never Say Never" https://comicbook.com/marvel/news/jessica-henwick-marvel-iron-fist-mcu-colleen-wing-return/ Jessica Henwick was offered a role in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings but she turned it down. The actress took a job with The Matrix Resurrections, instead. Henwick's Matrix gig has her fans cheering for various action beats and story moments as she teams up with returning franchise veteran Keanu Reeves but there is also a large camp of her fans hoping to see more of her in the Iron Fist role. As the story goes, Resurrections was not the only reason Henwick did not join Shang-Chi. The actress is interested in getting another crack at her Colleen Wing character and seems quite open to the idea of becoming the Iron Fist herself. A return for Henwick from her role in the Marvel TV-controlled Iron Fist series for the Marvel Studios-controlled Disney+ shows or movies doesn't seem too unlikely. Vincent D'Onofrio and Charlie Cox were both recently revealed to have reprised their roles as Kingpin and Daredevil, respectively, from their Netflix shows. "He's so good," Henwick said of D'Onofrio. "And yeah, Charlie Cox is out there doing his thing." As for whether or not Henwick will be reprising the role, it seems there is no news on that front yet. When asked if she would be interested in portraying the MCU's Iron Fist, Henwick didn't exactly dismiss the idea. "Look, the way we left Iron Fist, spoiler alert, Colleen has the power and she's in a really good place," Henwick told ComicBook.com. "I would love to revisit her. That character meant a lot to me and really changed my life. And I would love to revisit her one day, but it would really have to be the right place, and the right time, and the right script, but never say never." Henwick portrayed Colleen Wing in Iron Fist, The Defenders, and an episode of Luke Cage. It's not entirely clear just yet if the Marvel stories told on Netflix shows are canon to the main continuity of the Marvel Cinematic Universe which is controlled by Marvel Studios. D'Onofrio tells ComicBook.com that he was instructed to play his Kingpin the same way as he did on Netflix's Daredevil when he appeared in Hawkeye, though there were notable physical differences in the character which might be explained through by the gap in time since he was last since in 2018 before appearing in Hawkeye, which is set in 2024 at the earliest. After being a part of the Matrix franchise, Henwick might even have a few new moves to show off in the Marvel Cinematic Universe should she get the call to return. "[The Matrix Resurrections felt like an amalgamation of all the different bits of training that I'd had over the years with so many amazing coordinators and instructors," Henwick explained. "But really what was new for this time around was the work I had to do with guns. I had almost no real, hardcore weapons experience. And we had an amazing trainer, Rock, who made me feel really safe and tried to encourage me to just feel like it was an extension of the hand, that I was one with it. Because if you look at Keanu, I remember the first time on set with my gun, he just came over and inspected it. And there's an effortless aspect to it that I really wanted to emulate." Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. [35:09] Agents of SHIELD Fans Rally To Save The Show https://comicbook.com/marvel/news/agents-of-shield-save-the-show-fans-rally/ Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. fans want to save the show and are making their presence felt on Twitter. Seeing the renaissance of older characters being brought into the fold through Spider-Man: No Way Home and Hawkeye, people have started a hashtag surrounding the ABC series. This is nothing new for the SHIELD fandom who battled for respect in the latter part of its run. However, recent events have to make the fans feel a little better about their prospects. Who among us thought we would see Charlie Cox grave a Marvel production again? Probably, only the most ardent believers. But, here we sit in the year 2022 with dozens of reports about his involvement going forward. It's a wild time to be a fan of comic book movies and shows. So, why not try and get one of your favorites back on the board with a social media push. Chloe Bennet shared her support for the fandom last year as people wondered if they could see her in the MCU as a part of Secret Invasion. "I definitely would," Bennet told Looper of a possible return. "I mean, I have such a soft spot for her. I started shooting the show when I was 20, and then I finished when I was 27. To get this time right now, in isolation, to kind of contemplate the past seven years and how much it's meant to me — it hasn't really hit me yet that the show is over, so it doesn't really feel like I'm done playing her yet." She added, "I think once the last episode airs and the show is really out of my life, I think that will be an interesting feeling. But I can never say never. I mean, Coulson's died like 800 times. I don't think I realized when I first auditioned for the role how much this entire entity, how much this character, how much this universe and how much SHIELD was going to be just a part of me for the rest of my life. I definitely would be open to playing her again. But I have not been asked to, so... But, listen, 'Coulson Lives' started on Twitter, so who knows?" Actor and singer-songwriter Alicia Witt has been acting since the age of 7, when she made her film debut in David Lynch's sci fi classic Dune. She was most recently seen in I Care A Lot on Netflix, starring Rosamund Pike and Dianne Wiest, and leading the cast of the December release Modern Persuasion. Other recent credits include Netflix's Orange Is The New Black as Zelda; along with The Walking Dead, Supernatural, ABC's Nashville, FOX's The Exorcist, and Showtime's 3rd season of David Lynch's Twin Peaks. Films include Two Weeks' Notice, Last Holiday, The Upside of Anger, Mr. Holland's Opus, Urban Legend, Four Rooms, 88 Minutes, Urban Legend and Vanilla Sky. Alicia is also well known to Hallmark Channel audiences for her Christmas movies, beginning with 2013's A Very Merry Mixup; her eighth annual holiday film for the network, Christmas Tree Lane, which she produced, wrote the story for, and featured two of Witt's original Christmas songs, was released for the 2020 holiday season. Witt co-produced her next album, The Conduit, with Jordan Lehning and Bill Reynolds in Nashville TN, where she resides. Led by the first two singles, Chasing Shadows and Talk To You, the record comes out September 24th. A classically trained former competitive pianist, Alicia's music has been described as 'sharply personal, boldly melodic pop originals in the Carole King/Billy Joel vein' and 'touching lost-and-found love ballads' (Philadelphia Inquirer). Alicia has performed her original piano-driven pop music all over the world, including at the renowned Grand Ole Opry. Alicia has also opened for Ben Folds Five, Rachel Platten, and Jimmy Webb, to name a few. Her 2018 release, 15000 Days, was produced by Grammy-winning producer Jacquire King (James Bay, Norah Jones, Kings of Leon, Dawes). Witt's previous album, Revisionary History, was produced by Ben Folds and was described as 'Grey Seal era Elton John, an alt-universe Fiona Apple, and a film noir chanteuse notching her nights in cigarette burns on the fallboard' (NASHVILLE SCENE). As a musical guest, Alicia has appeared on numerous shows including NPR's Weekend Edition, CBS' Late Show with Craig Ferguson, The Queen Latifah Show, WGBH'S Open Studio on PBS, Good Day Nashville, KTLA's Morning Show, Good Morning Washington, and many performances on Hallmark's Home & Family Show. Alicia's music has been heard in numerous TV shows and movies over the past 10 years, including her ironic Christmas song 'I'm Not Ready for Christmas', which was featured in her Hallmark Christmas movie of the same name. Witt can add author to her resume with Small Changes, out October 5 2021 from Harper Horizons. The book is an inspiring, welcoming and simple yet effective guide to health, happiness and sustainable living. Instead of promoting a rigid diet, Small Changes will instead offer readers a stress-and-judgment-free approach for enacting easy, incremental changes across all areas of life. On stage, Witt starred in Neil LaBute's Tony nominated play Reasons to Be Pretty at the Geffen Playhouse. She also appeared at London's Royal Court theatre in Terry Johnson's Piano/Forte and made her West End debut with The Shape of Things. She has also performed at Williamstown Theatre Festival and is a regular participant in the 24-Hour Plays on Broadway and the 24-Hour Musicals off-Broadway. Other significant roles include Showtime's House of Lies, NBC's Friday Night Lights, CBS' The Mentalist and NBC's Law & Order: Criminal Intent. She spent 4 years on the CBS hit show Cybill and has also appeared on the HBO series The Sopranos, CBS's Two and a Half Men, Ally McBeal, and David Lynch's original Twin Peaks.

On this episode, The Barretta Brothers take questions from the Live Youtube chat, with special surprise visits by Muppet performer, puppeteer, producer, and director, Kevin Clash. Plus, actor, voice actor, Muppet performer, puppeteer, Tyler Bunch. ABOUT OUR HOSTS: Gene Barretta & Bill Barretta “What are they up to now?” That was the popular question around their house and neighborhood while growing up. It was not unusual to see Gene and Bill dressed up in homemade costumes – filming Super 8mm dramas – attempting risky stunts in the ravine – animating GI Joes and weird-looking clay figures – building and performing clunky puppets – drawing offbeat comics, - and imitating The Beatles. Today, life isn't very different. In addition to personal projects and various acting roles, Bill has been a director, writer, producer and core performer with The Muppets for nearly 30 years. Gene is an award-winning author and illustrator of children's books. He has also animated and illustrated for Sesame Street, Between the Lions, and The Jim Henson Company. The best part of their careers is that they occasionally get to work together! Unfortunately, no one will pay them to imitate The Beatles. ABOUT OUR GUESTS: Kevin Clash: Kevin Clash is best known for Elmo (Sesame Street) 1979-2012. He also was part of Labyrinth (1986), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1 (1990) and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 (1991), Happy Time Murders (SFX) 2018, and The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance (Netflix) 2019. In addition to Elmo, Clash is also known for performing Splinter (TMNT) Baby Sinclair (Dinosaurs), and Clifford (Muppets Tonight). Kevin Clash has won 29 daytime Emmys, over one hundred fifty -six performing title credits, thirty- one producing title credits and twenty- seven directing title credits. In 2011, his documentary, Being Elmo, was awarded the Special Jury Prize at Sundance. He has appeared in numerous television specials, commercials, feature films and direct-to-video products. During his career, he has worked with great innovators who founded the classic puppet television industry including Kermit Love, Frank Oz, and Jim Henson. Clash has recruited, auditioned, and trained puppeteers from all over the world. He was the senior puppet coordinator, and was also a director, co-producer and senior creative adviser on Sesame Street. Kevin was essential to the success of Elmo's World and the creative branding powerhouse of Elmo. Business Insider states that in 1996 the toy company Tyco saw their sales grow from $70 million to an astounding $350 million thanks to the Tickle Me Elmo Doll. Clash's most recent project, Earth to Ned, will be airing on Disney+ this Fall and he currently has several projects in development. Tyler Bunch: Tyler's work as a puppeteer has appeared in productions like Sesame Street, Bear in the Big Blue House, Between the Lions, and Crank Yankers. As an actor, he has appeared in The Electric Company, Law & Order “Criminal Intent” and “Special Victims Unit.”
Executive producer and Emmy nominated screenwriter Michael Angeli is interviewed about his acclaimed career. He discusses ghostwriting the Roseanne Barr book, Black Sails, Law & Order: Criminal Intent and Monk, just to name a few.

While he is recognized as one of film's best-known tough guys, Robert Davi has been winning the respect and admiration of fans, critics and fellow artists with his expressive singing. His album, Davi Sings Sinatra: On The Road To Romance, produced by the legendary Phil Ramone, catapulted its way into Billboard magazine's top ten (#6) traditional jazz chart. While Davi Sings Sinatra: On the Road to Romance and his dynamic performances may have surprised some of his fans, Davi's love of music and entertaining began at an early age. At 15, he won First Place in the prestigious New York State School Music Association Solo Competition. As a young adult, he studied under several top vocal teachers including the legendary Tito Gobbi, Dan Ferro of Juilliard, Samuel Margolis (who taught Robert Merrill) and renowned vocal coach Gary Catona. From the memorable villain, Colombian drug lord Frank Sanchez, in the Bond film "License to Kill" (voted one of the top Bond villains of all time) to his stand-out performances in "The Goonies," "Die Hard," "Kill the Irishman," "The Iceman" and many other films to the respected series "Profiler" and "Stargate: Atlantis," Davi has appeared in over 100 movies and many television programs. He has garnered praise from critics, directors and co-stars, including Steven Spielberg, Richard Donner, Blake Edwards, John McTiernan, and Paul Verhoeven. He has acted opposite Marlon Brando, Roberto Benigni, Bruce Willis, Clint Eastwood, Benicio Del Toro, Danny Glover, Michael Shannon, Chris Evans, James Franco, and Val Kilmer, among others. GQ Magazine has compared him to silver screen classics Robert Mitchum and Lee Marvin. His tough exterior masks an inner sensitivity, which he has brought to his roles as a Palestinian terrorist in the award-winning TV movie, "Terrorist on Trial: The United States vs. Salim Ajami," and in memorable appearances in "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," "Without a Trace," "Law & Order: Criminal Intent," "Criminal Minds" and many more. In 2007, Davi produced, directed co-wrote and starred in "The Dukes," the story of a successful Doo Wop group who falls on hard times. At the Monte Carlo Festival of Comedy, Davi was awarded Best First-Time Director and Best Screenplay for the film and he was the only first-time director in the Premiere Section of the International Rome Film Festival, with films by Sean Penn, Robert Redford, Sidney Lumet and Julie Taymor. Hailing from Astoria, Queens, NY, Davi attended Hofstra University on a drama scholarship. He moved to Manhattan to study with legendary acting coach Stella Adler, who became his mentor. He subsequently became a lifetime member of the Actors Studio, studying with acting teacher Lee Strasberg and also studied under Sandra Seacat, Larry Moss, Milton Katselas, Martin Landau, Mala Powers, and George Shdanoff, the creative partner and collaborator with the influential Michael Chekhov. His first screen appearance was opposite Frank Sinatra in the telefilm, "Contract on Cherry Street." Besides working in music, film and television, and raising his five children, four dogs, and two cats, Davi is an active supporter of The Dream Foundation, Exceptional Children's Foundation, Heart of a Child Foundation, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Youth Foundation, The Humane Society of the United States, Heart of a Horse, NIAF, The Order 'Sons of Italy' in America (OSIA), and UNICO National. Since its inception in 1998, Davi has been the National Spokesperson for i-Safe America, which is regarded by many internet experts as the most complete internet safety program in the country and is available in grades K- 12 in all 50 U.S. states. Davi has received numerous awards for career achievement and community involvement, including the George M. Estabrook Distinguished Service Award from the Hofstra University Alumni Association (past recipients include Francis Ford Coppola and William Safire). He has received the FBI's Man of the Year Award in Los Angeles and was also named KNX radio's "Citizen of the Week" for saving a young girl from a fire in her home. Other public service awards include the Sons of Italy's Royal Court of the Golden Lion Award and the 2004 STEP Award (Science, Technology and Education Partnership), whose past recipients include Arnold Schwarzenegger. In 2007, Davi received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Italian Board of Governors in New York, and in 2008, he received the Italo-Americano Award from the Capri-Hollywood Festival. In 2011, Davi was awarded the "Military Order of the Purple Heart" (MOPH) Special Recognition Award for dedication and service honoring America's service members and veterans. In 2015, Davi appeared in a music video for Bob Dylan's recording of "The Night They Called It a Day" from Dylan's album Shadows in the Night, , a collection of songs which had been recorded by Frank Sinatra. Rolling Stone suggested that Davi's role in the video may have been a nod towards Davi's having made his acting debut alongside Sinatra in the crime film "Contract on Cherry Street," and Davi's release of his own album of Sinatra covers.

Tread Perilously's month of "haunted" television heads back to Star Trek with the original series episode "Wolf in the Fold." When the Enterprise arrives in orbit around Argelius II for "therapeutic shore leave," the men aboard the ship beam down to enjoy the legendary pleasures and "generous" women the planet has to offer. Scotty, in particular, finds himself charmed by a belly dancer. But soon, she's found dead and Scotty is spotted with the murder weapon. Such crimes are unheard of on Argelius II, but a tribunal of sorts is convened. Will Scotty prove to be a mad killer or is some other evil at work? And will it haunt the ship before too long? Erik and Justin immediately identify Argelius II as a Gene Roddenberry sex planet. John De Lancie's misadventures with the My Little Pony fandom comes up. Erik ends up reviewing the Jeff Goldblum episodes of Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Roddenberry's screwed up sexual politics become an unavoidable topic. Justin cannot get past the fact guest actor John Fiedler is also the voice of Piglet. Erik once again sings the praises of Majel Barrett's computer voice and the pair discover a concept more ridiculous than Jack the Ripper possessing the Enterprise.

Today's Guest: Neal Baer, executive producer "Law & Order: SVU" Law & Order SVU Ultimate Collection Seasons 1-15, Mariska Hargitay, Christopher Meloni. Order your copy today by clicking on the DVD set above! The Law & Order television franchise has passed through numerous stages over its two decades on the air at NBC. There was innovation, as in the split show format of the original; shock, as in the horrible nature of some of the crimes depicted; expansion, as in the addition of series such as “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” and “Law & Order: Criminal Intent”; ubiquity, as in, “isn’t there anything on besides these doggone crime shows”; and, finally, respect, as in Mariska Hargitay winning the 2006 Emmy Award for Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series. Neal Baer, showrunner, Law and Order: SVU Kill Switch by Neal Baer and Jonathan Greene, Mr. Media Interviews NEAL BAER podcast excerpt: "The secret of the show's success? I think it's the teaming of Mariska Hargitay and Chris Meloni. I think they're the longest running team in drama; Ozzie & Harriet beat them in comedy—they ran for 14 years. They've got great chemistry. Chris represents the rage we feel about the crimes and Mariska represents the empathy we feel toward the victims." That’s all the stuff that you and my wife see when you watch hour after hour of “Law & Order.” But what goes on behind the scenes? That’s what I hope to discover from today’s guest, Dr. Neal Baer, the executive producer of “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.” Dr. Baer is a real medical doctor with a degree from Harvard; he interned at Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles and, more germane to a discussion of TV, he was on the original writing staff of “ER,” eventually rising to the position of executive producer. Elementary closes out a run of strong episodes with a Law & Order: Criminal Intent pastiche that limps to the finish. Also, Deep Space Nine goes on a weird bender, with an episode all about Vic Fontaine, an episode about Ezri that's great until it's about Ezri anymore, and the (thankfully) final mirror universe episode, which is hot garbage.
