In 1989, Neil Gaiman created an intellectual dreamscape with the launch of his Sandman series by DC. Somewhat taking place in the DC universe (characters are often referenced), it was eventually separated and moved to the Vertigo line, the home of the dark and macabre. The series received critical acclaim, and for many was the first graphic novel taken seriously in the literary sense. Gaiman is a skilled, imaginative writer, and the Sandman books often come across more as “books that happen to have pictures” more so than “picture books.” Marc leads Remso into the world of Dream, as they break down the first volume of one of the most critically acclaimed comic books of all time.Support the Second Print Comics Podcast on Patreon, where you'll get access to TONS of bonus content and perks, including early episode releases original shows like Remso Rants, The Random Marvel Comics Podcast, Remso vs the MCU, Wandavision Falcon and Winter Soldier Recaps, Clair Continues and so much more, for as little as a measly $5 per month!Follow us on Twitter and Instagram @SecondPrintPod! Has it been a year already?! Apparently it has, as SPC hits it's 52nd episode, and we circle back to one of the first characters we looked at way back in episode #2 - one Nicholas J. Fury. In 2014 good old "David Hasselhoff Nick Fury" had been shunted to the side in the Marvel continuity for his younger, blacker counterpart, "Samuel Jackson Nick Fury", but Marvel wasn't quite done with the character just yet. Instead, they gave us this 8 issue mini-series and 17 million spinoffs, as characters across the MCU have their deepest, darkest secrets revealed after The Watcher is murdered and his eyes are stolen, containing all the world's secrets! If it sounds absurd that's because it is, but if you think that's out there, just wait until you find out what "sins" 'old Nick Fury has secretly been up to all these years. Marc and Remso dig into all the sordid details as they battle their way through Marvel's "Original Sin!" Spanning SIX X-titles and featuring holographic covers and shocking events - such as the physical removal of Wolverine's adamantium at the hands of Magneto - this event was another huge cash grab by Marvel in their attempt to suck up as much X-fan money as possible? This summer, all the rules are broken as a sect of lawless marauders decides that the annual Purge does not stop at daybreak and instead should never end in The Forever Purge. Vaulting from the record-shattering success of 2018's The First Purge, Blumhouse's infamous terror franchise hurtles into innovative new territory as members of an underground movement, no longer satisfied with one annual night of anarchy and murder, decide to overtake America through an unending campaign of mayhem and massacre. The only hope for survival is for soldiers and civilians from the present to be transported to the future and join the fight. Among those recruited is high school teacher and family man Dan Forester (Chris Pratt). “Y'all wanna hear a story about why me & this bitch here fell out? It's kind of long but full of suspense.”_Thus began the odyssey of one A'Ziah King, aka ZOLA. From acclaimed writer/director Janicza Bravo, Zola's stranger than fiction saga, which she first told in a now iconic series of viral, uproarious tweets, comes to dazzling cinematic life. Zola (newcomer Taylour Paige), a Detroit waitress, strikes up a new friendship with a customer, Stefani (Riley Keough), who seduces her to join a weekend of dancing and partying in Florida. What at first seems like a glamorous trip full of “hoeism” rapidly transforms into a 48-hour journey involving a nameless pimp, an idiot boyfriend, some Tampa gangsters and other unexpected adventures in this wild, see-it-to-believe-it tale.FOLLOW USFollow Daniel on Twitter, Instagram, and LetterboxdFollow Shahbaz on Twitter, Instagram, and LetterboxdFollow Anthony on Twitter, Instagram, and LetterboxdFollow The Movie Podcast on Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Discord, and YouTubeANNOUNCEMENTSBLACK WIDOW SPOILER-FREE REVIEW OUT NOW!NEW EPISODES:110: Interview with Black Widow Cinematographer Gabriel Beristain and Transformers Rise of the Beasts Revealed109: Interview with Tara Strong, Voice Acting Legend and Miss Minutes in Loki108: Interview with Tony Bancroft, Disney Animation Veteran, Director of Mulan, and Creator of Pumbaa from The Lion KingREVIEWS: Black Widow, F9, Loki, Luca, Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard, A Quiet Place Part II, In The Heights, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, Spiral, Friends Reunion, Cruella, Army of The Dead, Riders of Justice, MODOK, Master of None Season 3, Those Who Wish Me Dead, Wrath of Man, Without Remorse, Mortal Kombat, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Recaps, Mythic Quest: Everlight, Love and Monsters, Shiva Baby, The Unholy, Godzilla vs Kong, and more are available now on The Movie Podcast feed! Marc and Remso look at the follow-up event to Mutant Genesis, which they looked at way back in episode 1, by reviewing X-Men Fatal Attractions! Spanning SIX X-titles and featuring holographic covers and shocking events - such as the physical removal of Wolverine's adamantium at the hands of Magneto - this event was another huge cash grab by Marvel in their attempt to suck up as much X-fan money as possible? Did it succeed? Well, it certainly did with 14 year old Marc! But did the story live up to the hype? The creator of “Hamilton” and the director of “Crazy Rich Asians” invite you to a cinematic event, where the streets are made of music and little dreams become big... “In the Heights.” In Washington Heights, N.Y., the scent of warm coffee hangs in the air just outside of the 181st St. subway stop, where a kaleidoscope of dreams rallies a vibrant and tight-knit community. At the intersection of it all is a likable and magnetic bodega owner who hopes, imagines and sings about a better life.“In the Heights” fuses Lin-Manuel Miranda's kinetic music and lyrics with director Jon M. Chu's lively and authentic eye for storytelling to capture a world very much of its place, but universal in its experience.FOLLOW USFollow Daniel on Twitter, Instagram, and LetterboxdFollow Shahbaz on Twitter, Instagram, and LetterboxdFollow Anthony on Twitter, Instagram, and LetterboxdFollow The Movie Podcast onLetterboxd,Twitter,Instagram,Discord, and YouTubeANNOUNCEMENTSNEW EPISODE: 106: Amazon Buys MGM, Timothée Chalamet is Willy Wonka, Aaron Taylor-Johnson is Kraven the Hunter, and We're Going to Tribeca!REVIEWS: Loki, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, Spiral, Friends Reunion, Cruella, Army of The Dead, Riders of Justice, MODOK, Master of None Season 3, Those Who Wish Me Dead, Wrath of Man, Without Remorse, Mortal Kombat, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Recaps, Mythic Quest: Everlight, Love and Monsters, Shiva Baby, The Unholy, Godzilla vs Kong, and more are available now on The Movie Podcast feed!WATCH: DANIEL ON CINEMASEEN < TAP TO WATCHThe Movie Podcast is on a mission to hit 200 Apple Podcast reviews before September, click here to head over to our show page on APPLE PODCASTS and leave us a 5 STAR review!

"The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It" reveals a chilling story of terror, murder and unknown evil that shocked even experienced real-life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. One of the most sensational cases from their files, it starts with a fight for the soul of a young boy, then takes them beyond anything they'd ever seen before, to mark the first time in U.S. history that a murder suspect would claim demonic possession as a defense.FOLLOW USFollow Daniel on Twitter, Instagram, and LetterboxdFollow Shahbaz on Twitter, Instagram, and LetterboxdFollow Anthony on Twitter, Instagram, and LetterboxdFollow The Movie Podcast onLetterboxd,Twitter,Instagram,Discord, and YouTubeANNOUNCEMENTSNEW EPISODE: 106: Amazon Buys MGM, Timothée Chalamet is Willy Wonka, Aaron Taylor-Johnson is Kraven the Hunter, and We're Going to Tribeca!REVIEWS: Spiral, Friends Reunion, Cruella, Army of The Dead, Riders of Justice, MODOK, Master of None Season 3, Those Who Wish Me Dead, Wrath of Man, Without Remorse, Mortal Kombat, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Recaps, Mythic Quest: Everlight, Love and Monsters, Shiva Baby, The Unholy, Godzilla vs Kong, and more are available now on The Movie Podcast feed!WATCH: DANIEL ON CINEMASEEN < TAP TO WATCHThe Movie Podcast is on a mission to hit 200 Apple Podcast reviews before September, click here to head over to our show page on APPLE PODCASTS and leave us a 5 STAR review!

A sadistic mastermind unleashes a twisted form of justice in SPIRAL, the terrifying new chapter from the book of SAW. Working in the shadow of an esteemed police veteran (Samuel L. Jackson), brash Detective Ezekiel “Zeke” Banks (Chris Rock) and his rookie partner (Max Minghella) take charge of a grisly investigation into murders that are eerily reminiscent of the city's gruesome past. Unwittingly entrapped in a deepening mystery, Zeke finds himself at the center of the killer's morbid game. SPIRAL stars Chris Rock, Max Minghella, Marisol Nichols, and Samuel L. Jackson, and is produced by the original SAW team of Mark Burg and Oren Koules. The film is directed by Darren Lynn Bousman and written by Josh Stolberg & Pete Goldfinger.FOLLOW USFollow Daniel on Twitter, Instagram, and LetterboxdFollow Shahbaz on Twitter, Instagram, and LetterboxdFollow Anthony on Twitter, Instagram, and LetterboxdFollow The Movie Podcast on Letterboxd,Twitter,Instagram,Discord, and YouTubeANNOUNCEMENTSNEW EPISODE: 106: Amazon Buys MGM, Timothée Chalamet is Willy Wonka, Aaron Taylor-Johnson is Kraven the Hunter, and We're Going to Tribeca!REVIEWS: Friends Reunion, Cruella, Army of The Dead, Riders of Justice, MODOK, Master of None Season 3, Those Who Wish Me Dead, Wrath of Man, Without Remorse, Mortal Kombat, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Recaps, Mythic Quest: Everlight, Love and Monsters, Shiva Baby, The Unholy, Godzilla vs Kong, and more are available now on The Movie Podcast feed!WATCH: DANIEL ON CINEMASEEN < TAP TO WATCHThe Movie Podcast is on a mission to hit 200 Apple Podcast reviews before September, click here to head over to our show page on APPLE PODCASTS and leave us a 5 STAR review!

She befriends a pair of young thieves who appreciate her appetite for mischief, and together they are able to build a life for themselves on the London streets.
