Join us on an unforgettable journey as we delve into the nitty-gritty of the production process of the critically acclaimed film, Oppenheimer. Sit down with us as we get up close and personal with director Christopher Nolan (Tenet, Inception, The Dark Knight) and actor Cillian Murphy, (Peaky Blinders) pulling back the curtain on their motivations behind the making of this historical drama. Robert Oppenheimer, the father of the atomic bomb.As we go further, you will find yourself immersed in the intricate details of the filmmaking process. Listen in as we discuss the groundbreaking decision to shoot part of the film in 70 millimeter black and white, a first for IMAX, and the innovative effort that went into creating the film. Hear how composer Ludwig Goransson music adds depth and dimension to each scene, adding to the unique viewing experience. But we won't just discuss the technical side of things; our conversation will also explore the powerful message the film embodies and the significant contributions of the cast. In this episode, we also remember a remarkable voice in the music world, the late Sinead O'Connor. Reflect with us on her influential first album, The Lion and the Cobra. Aaron and Josh Sarnecky are here for the October edition of their movie podcast. This time they're talking about The Prestige for its 15th anniversary. Joining the brothers as their special guest is their cousin Shawn Lebert. The Prestige is a mystery thriller directed by Christopher Nolan (Tenet), who adapted Christopher Priest's novel with his brother Jonathan Nolan (Westworld). The film came out on October 20, 2006. The Prestige follows Robert Angier (Hugh Jackman, Reminiscence) and Alfred Borden (Christian Bale, Ford v Ferrari), two magicians living in Victorian England. Angier and Borden start as friends but develop into bitter rivals competing in a dangerous game. Aiding Angier is his assistant Olivia (Scarlett Johannsson, Black Widow) and his engineer Cutter (Michael Caine, Kingsman: The Secret Service). Angier also enlists the services of inventor Nikola Tesla (David Bowie, Labyrinth) in his obsessive mission to beat Borden. The Prestige opened to a mostly positive reception and grossed $109 million on a $40 million budget. The film earned Oscar nominations for Best Art Direction and Best Cinematography. In 2020, Empire magazine ranked The Prestige #66 on its list of the 100 Greatest Movies of the 21st Century. Aaron, Josh, and Shawn talk about the movie's elements, including the plot, characters, and overall production value. They also discuss where it ranks for them among Christopher Nolan's films. For another podcast on a Christopher Nolan movie, you can listen Josh and Aaron's podcast on Memento. You can follow Shawn on Twitter @shawnlebert. You can also watch his proof-of-concept film “DAVE” on Vimeo. The Prestige is available on Prime Video. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/popbreaktv/message

In Zack Snyder's Justice League, determined to ensure Superman's (Henry Cavill) ultimate sacrifice was not in vain, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) aligns forces with Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) with plans to recruit a team of metahumans to protect the world from an approaching threat of catastrophic proportions. The task proves more difficult than Bruce imagined, as each of the recruits must face the demons of their own pasts to transcend that which has held them back, allowing them to come together, finally forming an unprecedented league of heroes. Now united, Batman (Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher), and The Flash (Ezra Miller) may be too late to save the planet from Steppenwolf, DeSaad, and Darkseid and their dreadful intentions.Written by: Chris Terrio, Zack Snyder, and Will BeallDirected by: Zack Snyder The Movie Podcast is one of Canada's top film and review podcasts. The true story behind Justice League's failure is only half of the juicy narrative, though. Snyder—who left the project months before filming concluded—still fans the flames that surround the rumor of a "Snyder Cut" of the film. This allegedly is the version of the story he wanted to tell before the studio, Warner Bros., pulled him off of the project. Hence, the "Snyder Cut."Pop-culture fans love a meaty mystery, and the controversy swirling around the lost Snyder Cut of Justice League has been captivating comic-book movie fans for years. Additionally, an army of passionate DC and Snyder fans are committed to getting the "Cut" released. They already have gone to incredible lengths to fight for the movie's opening, and have found strength, support, and charitable goals in their global "family" of Snyder Cut supporters. Their stories are remarkable, and the book is just as much about the dedicated fans who make up the Snyder Cut movement as it is about the unreleased film. Their efforts finally paid off with the recent announcement that Snyder's cut will be released in 2021 by Warner Bros. and HBO Max. Release the Snyder Cut tells the entire story.https://twitter.com/Sean_OConnellhttps://twitter.com/RTSCBookhttps://www.cinemablend.comFOLLOW USFollow Daniel on Twitter, Instagram, and LetterboxdFollow Shahbaz on Twitter, Instagram, and LetterboxdFollow Anthony on Twitter, Instagram, and LetterboxdFollow The Movie Podcast on Twitter, Instagram, Discord, and YouTube

Okay so I opened up Netflix and was so stoked to see a movie available that I had been told was fantastic but was only available in theatres in the US. I got about thirty minutes into Pieces of a Woman when I realized it wasn't Promising Young Woman! I'm sure I wasn't the only one to make this mistake which brings me to my question. With releases of similar films so close together have you ever started watching a movie only to realize it wasn't the movie you intended on watching? Friends with Benefits and No Strings Attached or The Illusionist and The Prestige come to mind for me! Anyways love all the great content from you lovely gentlemen. Happy New Year!
A Warner Bros. Pictures apresenta, uma produção da Syncopy, um filme de Christopher Nolan, Tenet. A Warner Bros. Just wanted to send my love during what is a difficult time for all movie & Marvel lovers. The loss of Chadwick Boseman is tragic and has sent ripples across the world showing how far his reach as not only T'Challa but just as an amazing actor and human has gone. This is especially true for the black community who have suffered far too much loss and trauma this year. I hope that everyone who has been touched by this can find time to heal and remember him for the incredibly moving, intelligent and talented person that he was. This all being said, I would like to leave you with a question, what can we as a movie community do to ensure we allow Chadwick's legacy to live on? Much love boys!

When Whedon came on board he wrote 80 pages of new script material. So that's about an 1 hour and 20 minutes of new footage that he shot in a 2 hour movie with credits that was mandated by WB. So already that shows you how different the film is. The reason Whedon didn't get credit for directing is cause the DGA rules state that a director who films 90% of principal photography gets sole credit no matter what. Zack Snyder filmed 100% of principal photography so that's why his name is in the theatrical cut. So yes this movie is going to be an entirely different from the Whedon version as well as the version he shot. That's why they are throwing so much money to basically redo it from the ground up. So things like the Russian family and the parademons smelling fear from the Batman scene are not in the Snyder Cut. Sorry for the long message but just wanted to give you that information. Thanks again guys for all you do :) ANNOUNCEMENTSCOMMENTARIES: Game Night, Sicario, and Spider-Man (2002) NOW AVAILABLE ON THE MOVIE PODCAST FEED!CATCH UP: Black Lives Matter, Zack Snyder's Justice League ‘Snyder Cut' Coming to HBO Max in 2021 and Interview with Kevin Lima, Director of A Goofy Movie, Tarzan, and Enchanted and more!CHECK OUT: The Last of Us Part II Spoilercast AVAILABLE NOW! And the evidence behind the fact that our systems across the world and not just here, can all be traced back to some form of injustice against darker people, is undeniable. I want to try and connect these thoughts to the theme of your show, which as all us listeners know is about entertainment. We are all so willing to consume black culture and entertainment in every form from dance, to music, to movies, to sports, and so on, yet we deny or ignore the fact that these artistic expressions and entertainment come from a place of their racial experience and the experiences of navigating white spaces. These artistic outlets a lot of the time are the only place that many artists feel they are listened to in any capacity. But to be listened to and to be understood are two different things. Audiences have been listening and watching stories about black traumas in one form or another for decades, yet they are still the most misunderstood and marginalized group of people we have to date across the world. All you should need to do is pay attention to what was done to Collin Kaepernick to understand how purposely misunderstood a black person is. Even after endlessly explaining that he was not protesting the flag and not protesting the anthem, the narrative was still driven as that. So it makes me wonder, how easily we as an audience are willing to dismiss and not understand the history behind the culture we are so willing to consume at any given time. If you don't know where to start, start with 13th on Netflix. Go in with a willingness to learn and go in to feel uncomfortable and sit in that discomfort. You should feel uncomfortable watching this, it's literally about human injustice at the grandest scale! If you can watch this and feel nothing, then you have some serious reflecting to do on how you contributed to this problem. It's like a little treat at the beginning of the week, from Miss Trunchbull's box of chocolates. My question is what your take on the “interactive storytelling” type games like Detroit and Heavy Rain. I personally love the genre because it's a bit of a break from having no control over movies and too much control on certain video games. Thanks! Absolutely love the pod!Ben says, So the new TENƎꓕ trailer was just released..... Well I'm just as confused as ever. Probably even more so. How does Nolan keep doing this, he essentially lets us see everything but yet we know nothing. Brilliant.
